When moving to a new city, it can take a long while to find a salon that ticks all your boxes.  I find myself being quite fussy when picking a salon, almost like the daunting feeling of entering a new relationship as we hope to regularly come back for the long-term. I am a bit like an overprotective mum with my hair, it must be said. After past terrible and borderline traumatic hair disasters, I really take time to research and read plenty of reviews.

After recently moving to West London,  I was lucky enough to stumble across the utterly blow dry and updo stunning salon that is Duck & Dry. It is situated in the most ideal location imaginable, right on the King’s Road meaning that it is perfect for us busy folk who are always on the go, yo-yoing back and forth into central! I have been recommended the salon by quite a few friends and when I did a quick swoop over their socials, I immediately could see why!

Immediately when walking through the door, you are hit by the friendly energy and beautiful vision of the brand. The salon has been described as being

‘uncompromising on quality yet affordable in a fun and vibrant environment’

I totally agree with the above and I think this is why it is so popular and in demand. The highly skilled hair stylists fill you with complete trust and you already know for a fact that you will be beyond happy with your hair as you walk out. The stylists really care about what look you are going for, they are patient, listen and give advice on what best compliments you. The services available range from updos, blow drys, curled hair, braids as well as offering a trim service.

The salon has recently undergone a tremendously fabulous refurbishment creating a fresh, innovative and relaxing environment. It really is a place where you can sit back and relax while sipping on a glass of prosecco or green tea for those sensible souls! With marble countertops, a botanical collection of flowers draping on the walls in an artistic and highly instagramable way, to even the new fluorescent sign on the wall! Everything has been carefully thought-out with meticulous attention to detail; the spacious layout, bright, minimal colour choices of the interior combined with the buzzing personalities of stylists really helps to calm the mind and is subsequently why Duck & Dry is so popular.

My hair was styled by the lovely and ridiculously talented Eva Stafasani (@hairtrendsbyeva). I walked out feeling like I had just met up with a friend, she was bubbly, professional and very easy to get along with. She created a cute and playful sixties look with bouncy, voluminous curls. A tip which I was given was to mainly condition the ends of your hair and avoid conditioning the top section – it honestly makes such a difference.

My hair felt so unbelievably soft and well-conditioned after my appointment and I walked away with Tropic Hair Care nourishing oil. The hair oil smells divine with Duck & Dry’s signature scent of wild English meadows. and a little bit goes a really long way.

I had the most lovely experience at Duck & Dry and I am so pleased to find a salon like it. It was such a relaxing experience and I walked away with a smile on my face, ready to start my day. I will be back very soon for sure! That’s all for now
