A fairytale wedding set in a whimsical location shrouded in botanical gardens and crystal clear water on a secluded island. I can safely say that my wedding expectations have been drastically raised to a very unrealistic level. As much as I want to rant about how simply splendid the wedding was, I do in fact like saving such things to memory. Therefore, today I want to share with you one guest wedding look of the season.
I was inspired by 50s and 60s prom looks; very girlie, innocent and playful. The colour of the dress is my favourite shade of blue and seems to really compliment pale complexions and blue eyes. The dress is worn with a petticoat which dare, I say, was not a particularly wise move when you have luggage restrictions (the risk us fashionistas take – I guess). I adore the off the shoulder feature and sweetheart neckline which is very flattering for all chest sizes. I wore the dress with cream satin peep show heels and a black handbag. Though regrettably, I am usually always one to colour coordinate shoes to handbag. I have recently been addicted to vintage tights and stockings, particularly ones with a seam.
Due to the heat, I kept my skin makeup very minimal: a touch of factor 50 tinted moisturiser and concealer to erase any prominent blemishes (a dot to dot game on most days sadly). I used a Chanel eyeshadow palette for my eyes; using a matte shade of brown below the eye and shimmery shades above. Always make sure to use a darker shade on the outer crease and a lighter shade in the centre of your eyelid. This really helps to wake up your eyes and make them pop! I wore false eyelashes for this look but I cut them in half and only used them for the outer corners of my eye to create a dolly-eyed look.
The bangs had to go for this look as nobody likes gappy heat affected fringes. I styled my hair with two intricate little plaits knotted at the back and secured with two flower clips. I hope you liked this look and I would love to see any of your wedding looks!
