Every December, I officially decide to make a mental contract with myself to put my Caramel Iced Frappuccino to one side and to move into Hot Chocolate territory. Those who know me, know that I am quite the hot chocolate connoisseur. In fact, I have a tendency to choose hot chocolate over any other drinks, even swanky cocktail beverages. There is something somewhat nostalgic about Hot Chocolate Drinks and you can, therefore, justify the slightly naughty calorific sugar content and go mad with whipped cream and all the toppings available.

After hearing about the new launch of Snowflake Luxury Gelato – a beautiful Hot Chocolate Bar, based in Selfridges, I was quite excited and knew that this would be my new home for the Winter season! When ordering your hot chocolate, you can specifically order it to your own taste preferences with a choice of four different hot chocolates and a variety of delicious toppings! The hot chocolate I had was the Ultimate Hot Chocolate which is a scrumptious rich, Italian-style drink made with Valrhona single origin, 62% cocoa chocolate. The other flavours that are offered are their regular white, milk and dark hot chocolates which can all be customised accordingly! I have to say, the hot chocolate I had was really something quite special. It had a consistency which differed from anything I have ever had before and you could tell the chocolate was the finest chocolate available.

If this was a little bigger, I would so be Augustus Gloop from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and go for a little swim!

I had it with whipped cream, caramel balls and their delectable Nutella chocolate shavings. It was utterly subliminal!

For a cheeky little snack, I decided to have The Snowball which is one of their Christmas products only available until December. All I can say it, you simply must try it! Not only does it look like a beautiful work of art but it tastes like the most magical thing that my taste buds have ever had the honour to experience! It is a white chocolate ball with pistachio gelato, red currant sorbet, white chocolate rippling and meringue and hazelnut grains. It is served on top of gingernut crumbs. Absolutely delicious!

I truly recommend you to visit before Christmas as it will make this season even more special for you. Luckily, Snowflake Gelato is spread out over a few destinations in London: Bayswater, Soho, Selfridges, South Kensington and Marble Arch! A cheeky breakfast, a lunch to give you a burst of energy or a naughty treat in the evening – go and experience the most delicious hot chocolate London has to offer!
